Created in 2013 at the dawn of the vermouth renaissance, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is the only vermouth made with Pineau des Charentes and infusions of 37 plants of course including sagebrush. Its name comes from the famous agronomist Jean-Baptiste de la Quintinye born in 1626 in Chabanais, requested by Louis XIV's gardener, Le Nôtre, to create the King botanical garden. La Quintinye transports us to Versailles in a universe where joy and opulence reign. Now, at a time when retro-chic and classic cocktails are in vogue, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal has been awarded in 2016 as the best French vermouth in the world by Paul Pacult's Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
This vermouth is made with Pineau des Charentes white, a particular type of French aperitif wine not typically found in vermouths. Its unusual nature makes this vermouth something very special and truly unique.
Magnificently herbaceous in honor of King Louis XIV's botanist.
Nose : Whiffs of summer breeze, full of honeysuckle, hay and subtle apricot.
Palate: Light citrus fruits, lavender, fresh garden herbs and a little bitter wood.
Finish: Fruity on the finish - lemons, oranges, grapes.
Being so different from other vermouths, La Quintinye Royale Blanc offers something new to create new cocktails.
