Created in 2013 at the dawn of the vermouth renaissance, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is the only vermouth made with Pineau des Charentes and infusions of 37 plants of course including sagebrush. Its name comes from the famous agronomist Jean-Baptiste de la Quintinye born in 1626 in Chabanais, requested by Louis XIV's gardener, Le Nôtre, to create the King botanical garden. La Quintinye transports us to Versailles in a universe where joy and opulence reign. Now, at a time when retro-chic and classic cocktails are in vogue, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal has been awarded in 2016 as the best French vermouth in the world by Paul Pacult's Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
This vermouth is made with white Pineau des Charentes, a particular type of French aperitif wine not normally found in the path of vermouth.
Being unusual makes this vermouth become something very special and truly unique.
Magnificently herbaceous in honor of King Louis XIV's botanist.
Nose: Summer breeze blows with honeysuckle, hay and subtle apricot.
Mouth: Light citrus fruits, lavender, fresh garden herbs and some bitter wood.
Finish: Fruity at the end - lemons, oranges, grapes.
Being so different from the other vermouths, La Quintinye Royale Blanc offers something new to create new cocktails.
