In 1898, the Henri Bardouin distillery was founded in Forcalquier, in the heart of Provence.

Recently, the distillery's producers have returned to the original recipes and have mixed in spices and herbs from distant lands, which were purchased at the time in the port of Marseille.

Herbs and their healing properties have long been known and used in the treatment of suffering for centuries.
Especially in a climate like that of Provence, where countless plants thrive, the production of herbal medicines is widespread.
To extract the active ingredients, oils have always been extracted from plants using alcohol.

Vermouth has an alcohol content of between 14.5 and 21.9% by volume. This is stipulated by law and is obtained by mixing wine with herbs and spices.
One of the main components and namesake of this drink is the wormwood herb. It is characterized by a fine, bitter note.

Vermouth de Forcalquier has a greenish color with bright yellow highlights. It has a clear note of absinthe, which comes from the wormwood herb. In fact, 15 herbs are used in this vermouth, including coriander, anise, lemon balm, mint, cinnamon, gentian, artemisia - and, of course, wormwood.

The Henri Bardouin distillery recommends this drink as an aperitif, on ice and as a cocktail.
